Susie Gizzard, ever the consummate mother hen, if she saw a baby anywhere, she could never leave without kissing and loving on them. You knew anytime you saw a baby some where Susie was bound to head in that direction. Tried telling her you can’t do that the parents don’t want a stranger hugging or kissing on their baby.
That never stopped her and for some reason no one ever objected to Susie loving on their baby. Susie was an extraordinarily strong woman and had a mind of her own and not afraid to let you know if something was not right. Especially when it came to possible harm to a child, that was totally unacceptable and woe to the person that crossed that line.
In 1980, Susie got involved with her nephew’s hood cleaning business and through the years she learned how everything worked. When she learned how dangerous it was using these hood cleaning chemicals she was appalled and voiced it. Her Nephew told her there was no other choice it was the only way to get them cleaned. She then asked what they did with the chemical waste and when she found out all that caustic waste was being illegally dumped, she hit the roof.
Once Susie found out there is another way to accomplish this hood cleaning without chemicals, she became a champion of that technology. When she learned that this chemical waste illegally dumped was responsible for birth defects and a host of other sicknesses, she decided it need to stop. So began her plight to build an organization dedicated to stopping this practice and to educate, enforcement of the laws protecting humans and our environment.
